Cleaning Garden Hose Attachments

Posted in Home & Garden at 10:49 am by Donna

If you’ve found that your garden hose hand-held nozzles or your lawn sprinklers have gotten clogged and you’ve tried everything, maybe this will help.

We have well water with a high iron content so we wind up with sediment now and then which doesn’t cause a problem as long as you detach your faucet screens now and then and let it out as well as some alterations to laundry (can’t use bleach because it turns brown).

SO…I had gone out this past spring and I bought all new hand squirters and I vowed to take care of these ones <as opposed to…?> and they were already really clogged when I went out yesterday to take care of the gardens!

I’ve used CLR and other products that claim to remove hard-water and rust and all that before and found that most of them really don’t do what they say they’ll do!! <surprise!> Suddenly, it dawned on me that every time that I clean the drains, it also removes any rusty colored stuff from whatever it touches!  So, I poured a very small amount of drain cleaner on the nozzle and used a utility brush to make sure that it got into the holes and rinsed it off and now it’s like brand new, once again!
(Please be careful of the fumes though…thank you!)

In this day and age where every dollar counts, it’s best to fix and take care of what we have rather.  I do believe that many manufacturers have caught on that making things that last doesn’t fill the pocket so they make thing that they’re sure will break down the day after it’s 2 year warranty!!
SO…If this helps anyone, that is cool…

Two New StopSylviaBrowne Articles Up Today!!

Posted in °PSA's at 7:37 am by Donna

Robert Lancaster of StopSylviaBrowne.com
has posted two new articles today!

The articles are emails from two people who had attended the same “Sylvia Browne Show<now all she needs is a band> in Las Vegas that Robert and others had attended.
<”I Speak With Sylvia Browne

As you will read, people have very strong opinions of Ms. Browne both pro and con but typically, when the fans or the curious read Robert’s site, their admiration for the woman fades <not their faith though >.

In Email: “Sylvia Browne show on June 22 the author was skeptical but wanted to believe, much as I did back in the day!  She also pointed out some things that Robert had forgotten about the show <in his daze of amazement at the day they’d had, I’m sure> that were very, very interesting.  If you’re the type who won’t go to Robert’s site and read, at least hear this excerpt from the woman’s email:

“You failed to talk about the lady who didn’t have a question and just wanted Sylvia to tell her something….Sylvia was so rude to her, she could of even told her future looked bright or anything rather than acted like she offended her by asking such a dumb question Sylvia just turned her head and asked the next person for their question! She could of made up something rather than wasted that ladies money.”

Email Author

Robert’s elaboration on The Lady Without a Question is quite interesting and his Final Analysis is logic at it’s best!!  Great Job as usual Mr. Lancaster and my gratitude to the author!

In Email: “In Las Vegas at the Sylvia Browne Show, the author had felt that Robert had treated Sylvia disrespectfully but through further correspondence, her opinion changed.
I believe it’s next to impossible for opinions not to change after reading the facts and figures that Robert has consolidated!

“Woman1″ writes,

“Mr. Lancaster,

“WOW”, you have really done your homework! You blew my opionions right out of the water!! I can’t believe what I read!”

She goes on to say,

“And she was looking where you were sitting. Kinda like starring with a mad look on her face! i thought alot about everything last night, and i remembered that. Usually when people do a show and peek out to the crowd, they usually smile or even wave at the people that did notice them!! She just stood there with kinda a scary look on her face! One lady even said out loud, look their she is; look how beautiful she is!! Thats when i looked up, and thought ,holy moly, she looked scary!!!!”

That is PRICELESS!!!  Sylvia even had the nerve to complain that the show started a minute later (4:01) due to someone else’s incompetence!  How about paranoia, Sylvia?

And then she writes,

and the worst part about it, is i was the stupid one that paid full price to have a question answered!!! AND WHY DID SHE GIVE A FREE QUESTION??? She never gives anything away for free?!!!! So, maybe you did change the show program. Did you know she charged 25.00 for a picture with her?

Read the articles, please!  What I’ve highlighted is only a speck and Pro or Con, if you’re a true seeker of knowledge, keep seeking truth!

I’m really proud of and grateful to the authors who granted Robert the permission to publish their emails.  I spent 9 or so years devoted to spreading that woman’s word [Sylvia Browne and Novus Spiritus] and I know that it took a lot of guts to come out in the open as you did.  I remember my first email to Robert…I was shaking like a leaf but Robert’s such a nice guy that it’s impossible not to like him!  He and his wife Susan are household names in my home and we’re on opposite coasts and have never met!!  It’s just like that, you know?

Anyway…THANK YOU!!  You’re in good company!

“Funny Games” Movie Review

Posted in Book-Movie Reviews at 6:19 am by Donna

Funny Games” (US)

Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Michael Pitt, Brady Corbet and Devon Gearhart

Two psychotic young men take a family hostage in their cabin.

IMDB.com

From the beginning until the last few seconds (literally) this movie was so predictable that I think that we kept watching it just to see if there was a surprise in it somewhere which only happened in the last 30 seconds of the film!

Naomi Watts is a great actress and I love her but I think she should have chosen a better role to play unless gigs are hard to get these days.  And, as soon as I saw that Michael Pitt was in it, I knew that there would be mind games involved!  He’s pretty predictable as a twisted-in-one-way-or-another kind of guy.  I was a little angry at the way Tim Roth’s character didn’t fight back!!  His kid seemed to have more fire in him that he did!!

All in all, it was a good idea, although done before, but poorly written and played out.

“Music Within” Movie Review

Posted in Book-Movie Reviews at 2:33 pm by Donna

Music Within“

Ron Livingston, Melissa George, Michael Sheen and
Rebecca De Mornay

The True Story Of Richard Pimentel, A Brilliant Public Speaker With A Troubled Past, Who Returns From Vietnam Severely Hearing-Impaired And Finds A New Purpose In His Landmark Efforts On The Behalf Of Americans With Disabilities… Written by Steven Sawalich

IMDB.com

Very rarely does a movie touch me like this one.
Ron Livingston doesn’t look much like the real Richard Pimental but his ability to deliver a speech like Richard must have been quite a blast of a character to “get into” and he did it well!  I loved that although his childhood was dysfunctional which bled into his adulthood, it didn’t stop him!  <I can personally relate>
It was truly inspiring!

Michael Sheen blew us away as Art Honeyman!!  Art has CP but he is a genius who just can’t control his body.  His sense of humor and everything about him was amazing!!  He deserves an award or two for this one I think…

But, the message and the knowledge you obtain from this movie is what is really phenomenal.  I did not know how the Americans with Disabilities Act came into being even though I am one of many permanently disabled Americans.

The scene where Richard and Art go out for pancakes at a place that 20 years prior refused service because they said he [Art] was “ugly” hit me hard.  At the end of the movie the scene where they go back after 20 years almost made me cry with joy and other emotions…it was great!

“Music Within” gets three  in my blog.

The Lancasters Go to Vegas!!

Posted in °PSA's at 7:37 am by Donna

I love waking up in the morning and finding an email from Robert Lancaster telling me <and the others on his mailing list > that he’s got a new article up on his site, StopSylviaBrowne.com!  It’s sort of like Christmas without the hub-bub!  <sort of but not quite>  You can’t wait to open it, you know?

In I Speak With Sylvia Browne,” Roberts tells how he and his lovely wife Susan and a few folks from the JREF Foundation went to see Sylvia Browne at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas!  <What a God-given coincidence to have a JREF meeting and a Sylvia Browne show in the same town at the same time, huh??!! >

I think that this is probably one of Robert’s top 10 articles (there are so many)!  I absolutely LOVE it!!  The first-hand account shows us how things really are at these types of shows rather than how they appeared to the faithful who’s eyes are clouded
<speaking from experience as a former cloudy-eyed person>
or how misleading fans may portray them
!

I was especially sickened to read about the woman who had just lost her mother and hadn’t even buried her yet (and still went to the show) and was told by Sylvia that her mother loved her funeral service! That’s really sad!!  Going there looking for answers from someone you admire and getting that?!  Why didn’t that woman speak up and say, “What service?  We haven’t buried her yet!” but I expect everyone there to be a little leery of contradicting her.  I just feel really bad for that lady…and she’s just one out of the crowd who’s going through turmoil and is looking for someone to help them…not some con-artist!

My friends and I have seen the other side of Sylvia Browne.
(See “Did I Tell Ya About When Sylvia Browne Called Me?“)
One woman (good friend of mine…former Novus minister?)
had 4 (or so) of the Society’s higher-ups yelling at her at one time over the phone and the language they used just because she rented (with her own money) a different place to hold church services!!!!! OMG!!  And remember how Rob Samuels received several harassing phone calls?  Mine wasn’t harassing so much as it was intimidation.  So, yeah, I can see why people might not want to contradict her face to face!!

<I always envisioned the scene in The Wizard of Oz where the smoke and thunder sounds come from behind the curtain but trust me, there is no curtain that can hide her!  Between vanity and ego, she keeps peeking through the curtain an exposing herself!!  She’s just a small woman…small in so many ways!  No reason to fear.>

I am not surprised at how Robert kept his cool because that’s how I’ve always known him to be, but I am surprised at Sylvia going through the all of the trouble to segregate him from the rest of the audience and try to goad him into an altercation!  What a lunatic!!  I can almost see Sylvia’s people giggling backstage as they come up with the plot!  IMAGINE SYLVIA’S FACE WHEN SHE WAS TOLD THAT THE LANCASTER’S WERE THERE?  OMG!!!!!!!!  Sorry for yelling but I get so excited!

I wish that there was something to have leveled the playing field for me back in 1998 before I got involved with the Sylvia Browne Corporation and the Society of Novus Spiritus but now I can do my part in helping others by helping Robert in any way in order to expose the real Sylvia Browne and help people from giving her their hard-earned cash without sacrificing their spiritual growth!

I do want to further elaborate something that is in Robert’s article that got my attention…

“Browne also mentioned at this point that her churches were the only schools in the USA which were licensed to train hypnotherapists. I find this difficult to believe, and a Google search for the phrase “train hypnotherapist” seems to indicate otherwise, but I have not researched it in any depth.”

Back in April I had written an article, The Society of Novus Spiritus Hypnosis Training which you may want to check out.  There’s a comment there that contains a link to a neat hypnosis training site.  I also thought it cute that she mentioned “not being like Cher”.  I wonder if she reads my blog because I had written “Aw Man!! Is Sylvia Browne going to be like Cher??” back in April.  Cool…one step ahead.  Ha Ha!!

I am not a mean woman by a long-shot!  And neither are the Lancasters or Nancy Williams or Rob Samuels and the countless others who work toward this common goal! I really cannot stress that enough! But, after having been through what we’ve been through with Sylvia and her “people” and knowing people who’ve gone through worse (Hornbeck’s and the Jenning’s for instance), this is righteous anger and justified justice seeking!!

Anyway… GREAT job to Robert and Susan for being who you are and for doing what you do!!!  I can only imagine that 4 hour ride home after having this happen!!  I can almost feel the excitement!!  And, thanks also to Larson and the others who assisted!

Movie Review ~ “Charlie Bartlett”

Posted in Book-Movie Reviews at 5:37 am by Donna

Charlie Bartlett” with Anton Yelchin, Hope Davis, Kat Dennings and Robert Downey Jr.

My husband and I had seen the previews for “Charlie Bartlett” on other DVD’s we’d rented but we both figured that the best parts were shown on the previews as is usally the case but NOT with this movie!!

I LOVED the main character, Charlie, but I didn’t recognize who Anton Yelchin was until I saw his bio on IMDB but he really played the role of the dysfunctional yet ingenious rich kid who winds up winning popularity by solving everyone’s problems which, at times, required medication which Charlie was able to get easily by his family-appointed psychiatrist!

Robert Downey Jr. played the role of principal very well and I must say that it’s nice to see him living without drugs (presumably still).  Hopefully he’ll stay that way…he’s showing everyone that you CAN come back!!  Way to go!!  I guess it was no coincidence that he is starring in a movie that speaks out against the over-medicating of our youth!!!  Not a lot of people know that subject as up close and personal as he does!!

The writer, Gustin Nash, in my opinion, hit a home run with this one…how he managed to attack the subject of our “poor youth” and their “horrible” problems <cough> and how pills have paved their roads like a bunch of good intentions only to backfire!  I loved the writing style…humor with a lot of logic and intelligence mixed in.

All in all I have to give this movie a

And the Winner Is…Ellen!!

Posted in Entertainment at 6:51 am by Donna

Ellen Degeneres has won an Emmy for outstanding talk-show host for the fourth year in a row!  The View with Whoopie has increased their chances but I don’t think that the show has just the right mix of people to win just yet…just my opinion…

And, according to People.com, while Ellen and Portia were walking the red carpet at Friday’s Daytime Emmy Award show, Ellen announced that she and Portia De Rossi have set a date for their marriage while Portia showed off her ring, a marquis cut diamond set with pink diamonds and said that they are planning their dream wedding!!  That’s so cool!!  I like to see people happy!!

I’m neither for or against gay marriage.  It doesn’t affect me personally but I am a BIG believer in Live and Let Live.  I also despise religious dogma that dictates so many aspects of our lives.  Everyone should be treated equal and not ruled by a book that’s been edited for content 20-something times to suit the needs of control freaks <yes, I’m talking about the Bible> so I guess it does affect me personally!!!

I am a little shocked that Portia cut her hair!!  Girl, what were you thinking?  Just kidding!!  You look adorable!  I’ve been thinking of doing the same think but my husband doth protest too much!

ANYWAY…
Congratulations to both of you!!!
