Hey folks!

I spent a decade learning, teaching and discussing Sylvia Browne’s books and the beliefs of her “church” the Society of Novus Spiritus.

Last April (2007) I found out the truth.
Rather, I had my suspicions that I had all along proven to be true.
I found out so much about Sylvia Browne and her cohorts who were reaping financial gain hand over fist by taking advantage of people on their last leg…spiritually, mentally and physically.

It knocked me off my foundation for a bit.
I had invested so much time and effort into it all.  I created a discussion group and kept it going for almost a decade and I devoted so much time to mastering the concepts that Sylvia and her cohorts (for lack of a better word and good manners) stole from other books and slapped a label on it and live under the tax shelter as a church.

I found out that the woman I saw on Montel, so condescending and ignorant to the people in the audience was really that way!  Vile and rude and ungracious!
I found out alot…but nothing that my husband and I didn’t suspect all along.
I didn’t get too deep into it but some of my friends invested alot more than time and devotion and lost alot of money to these people.
Anyone who buys a reading ($750 for 20 minutes of bullcrap) has lost alot of money to these people.
But nothing compares to the wild goose chases she sends people who are missing a loved one.  Shawn Hornbeck is only one example.

But, I think what bothers me most is she made it an awkward thing to say “I’m a Gnostic Christian” for fear of being mistaken as one of her followers, as she has hijacked the religion much like what happened 2000 years ago.
I still say it though…

History will repeat itself until we learn.

Also in April, I met a guy online who runs StopSylviaBrowne.com.  His name is Robert Lancaster and he’s probably one of the nicest human beings I’ve met online in all of my years.  Definitely genuine…and I can only say that about 2 people I’ve met online for sure.  No offense anyone.

I have a permanent link to his site but I wanted to explain why.

Sylvia Browne is no more psychic than my dog is able to use the toilet properly.
Notice that I say ‘properly’ as we do not know my dog’s true intent…yet.
Novus Spiritus is no more a spiritual organization than raw chicken is good to eat.

But I’m not going to make up anyone’s mind as much as I’d like to.
People have to learn things in their own way.
I want to say to people who are venturing into the spiritual world of endless knowledge that they need to be careful who they latch on to, and that they shouldn’t latch on to anyone tighter than they do to God, but that’s invasive.

No, I can’t make up anyone’s mind for them but I can offer them a fair and balanced review of some of Sylvia Browne’s work.
Check out the site and make up your own mind.

Peace

As long as they charge THAT amount of money the gusts tell us, there must be somethign wrong. Where is the Love for humanity?

I don’t mind them chargind something, but $700 for 20 minutes? Pleea-s-se. Even her son is charing and incredible amount of money for talking with him over the pnone,. It spells R-I-P -O-F-F. She is rash, uneducated, unrespectful, and full of crap. I always thought there was something phony about her. The way she sticks her nail in her mouth, the look, the answers without compassion… No way.

Discovering yesterday that my wife was reading a book by Ms Browne about psychic children, I decided to see what I could find out about the author. . . not because of any tenet I felt violated, but more because of a single statement or idea. Paraphrased: According to my wife, Ms Browne says there is no Heaven or Hell….when people die, they just go home. No price to pay for a life of crime or evil. I started looking for proof of Heaven & Hell when I was five years old, so I have a problem with that; with the acceptance by the “Source”, or the “Universe” of a total lack of need for morality in one’s life. Perhaps I can look at documentation concerning ‘Novus Spiritus’ for an answer, though it might be somewhat difficult, having a problem of not wanting to know more about Sylvia Browne.

I’m right there with ya, Karl!
I’d much rather see your wife and EVERYBODY go for a better, more reliable source than Sylvia Browne’s books. Maybe you’re wife should read StopSylviaBrowne.com and she will feel differently about the woman and will find a better source for her spiritual journey! ;-)

I am curious why sylvia browne wasn’t able to prevent or treat her own apparent health issues with her psychic insight. she can barely walk off the stage sometimes. maybe her shoes are too tight.

    Nah…it’s not her shoes.
She uses a wheelchair all of the time other than when she’s walking on and off stage.
Why she was able to prevent or treat her health issues?
    Because she’s not a psychic and she’s not a doctor! ;-)
