Today in Camden, New Jersey, jury selection begins in the trial of Serdar Tatar, Mohamad Ibrahim Shnewer and the brothers Dritan, Eljvir and Shain Duka who are charged with planning a jihad-inspired attack on the Fort Dix military base. 

I live about 10 minutes from Fort Dix.  My daughter works on a nearby base and most of my neighbors are either enlisted or work there.  Many of us have eaten at the pizza parlor owned by one of their fathers.  Many of us have shopped at the Shop-Rite that one of them worked at.  Freaky, huh?

In Philly.com (The Philadelphia Inquirer) I read,

“The first of an estimated 1,500 potential jurors will report to U.S. District Court in Camden this morning and begin filling out questionnaires designed to determine how much they know about the case and whether that knowledge or any other inherent beliefs or biases should preclude them from the jury.

Twelve jurors and six alternates will be chosen to determine the fate of the defendants, all in their mid- to late 20s, who face potential life sentences.”

What I want to know is how do they find a jury of their peers?
Are there that many people who can have anything in coming with or be truly able to be unbiased against these people who have twisted their religion to suit their needs to spread destruction and bring everyone down to their level living near me?

According to Central Florida 13 News

“A new petition circulating the Internet is gaining support from people across the country who are upset the Anthony family may be making money off the little girl’s disappearance.

The Web site is called “Lifetime Should Not Pay For A Movie About Caylee Anthony.”

It states, “We the undersigned will not stand for any media outlet buying the Casey Anthony story from the Anthony Family before the full conclusion of this case and Caylee is brought home.”

The creator of the petition states the signatures will go to the Lifetime Network in an effort to prevent a $2 million movie deal for Casey Anthony’s story.

So far, the petition has more than 2,518 signatures. Their goal is to collect 10,000.

I wasn’t going to blog <g> about this whole economic crisis crap.  How we got here…Who is to blame?  Is it Bush?  Did he really hold down Washington and make them vote his way?  I hear that’s what happened when the Iraq war was voted on, you know…Bush and Cheney had their shotguns aimed at the heads of state or something!  I don’t know.  I’m just kidding.  It’s much easier to think that way than to believe that the people we voted into office supported everything that we hate about the Bush Administration. 
Anyway…I’m getting sidetracked here.

I’m sitting her watching my neighbors, who are your classic welfare recipients.  We’ve been paying for years to people who can’t or won’t work but they sit home and spit out babies like they’re a Pez dispensers!  Not one of them has a job, or intends to get one, but they can afford to feed the little kiddies Burger King every night!  They don’t care about the appearance of their homes because if they get kicked out of this one, the state, i.e. OUR TAX DOLLARS, will get them new housing! 

But, now I’m ALSO asked to pay for the family that makes $45K a year and mortgaged a $400K home, filled it with credit card purchases and buys a few new cars to park in its driveway, next to the boat or the RV for those vacations they can’t afford!  <remember the commercial with the guy riding on his lawn mower saying that he’s in debt up to his eyeballs?>  

Now, in addition to the millions of people who are in the welfare or unwilling to work category, we are going to have to pay for the soccer mom with one kid who had to have a Hummer to carry the little tike in!  God forbid should she lose the thing!  NO!!  There’s too many of them!  It would be bad!!
And the lesson is…drumroll please…keep up with the Jones’ or get screwed by them!!
And what about those jet-setters with 10 fancy credit cards in their wallet!  You can even get Superman printed on them or, lo and behold, a picture of your dog!    Yes, in a world where cash is king, you only need a penny to get a thousand! 

My husband and I have been working all of our lives.  We pay our bills on time and make sure not to create more bills than our paychecks can handle!  We have been living within our means even if it means we have to sometimes “act” poor.  <some call it frugal but I take that a step further>  We pay our taxes (and then some) and we still managed to give more to charity than Joe Biden! sorry but it’s true  Actually, my husband swears that his tax dollars go to buying Bunker-Busters!!  It keeps him from insanity!

So, now, those of us who live within our means and do without if we can’t afford it are going to pay for the piss-poor and the poser’s who act rich!

And once again, we bend over.<yay!>

OH!!  And don’t expect to be treated any kinder for it!  They’ll be as ignorant to you as they were yesterday!

Yes, it seems that between the election coming up and the amazingly twisted tale that’s going on down in Orlando Florida with the “Casey Anthony Fantasy Show”, Drew Peterson is flying way under the radar!  He has got to be loving all of this attention going to someone else!  It’s people like him who hope for big hurricanes!!

But, I figured I would look into what is going on with this dysfunctional individual.

Apparently, on October 1st, a book called “Drew Peterson Exposed” written by Derek Armstrong will be released.  Drew Peterson took two separate polygraph tests in order to get the publisher to agree to publish “his entire story” and they’re trying to hook everyone by announcing that the author won’t/can’t tell us what the results are from the tests until the book is released.  

Its a brilliant marketing strategy but…
If the polygraph tests showed any indication that Drew Peterson killed Stacy Peterson beyond any doubt, then the author and publishers would be obligated to report that immediately, right?  I bet that the results were inconclusive and that the publishers agreed to publish the interviews with the reader’s knowledge that the tests were taken.

And, I don’t know about you guys but, there is no way in hell that I am going to buy this book or even pick it up to leaf through it!! 
I wouldn’t want to take a chance that Drew Peterson will ever see a dime of anyone’s money at the expense of two young women who are dead!!  Yes, the story’s interesting but he’s still on “the outside” where he can live the high life on the money he makes from the books!!  That’s crazy!! 

And another thing…
I would like to know what the hold-up is!  Why haven’t they arrested Drew Peterson yet?! 

According to the Morris Daily Herald in Illinois,

“JOLIET, Ill. (AP) – A Will County judge says he’s in possession of an “extensive” amount of evidence detailing surveillance of former police officer Drew Peterson.

And the hold up is??  Seriously!!  Treat them like the everyone else!  Do the right thing!!  Get Drew Peterson and Casey Anthony behind bars where they belong during the investigation!!  Anyone else would have been locked up long ago with one tenth of the evidence that you have against these people!!

In todays USA Today, there is an article about an interview with Shawn Hornbeck by Troy Roberts of CBS’ 48 Hours Mystery, which airs this Saturday.  (Check your local listings)

As you may remember, Shawn Hornbeck and Ben Ownby were rescued from their kidnapper, Michael Devlin in January of 2007.  Many followers and ex-followers of Sylvia Browne’s know this story specifically because Sylvia Browne was involved.

In the interview, Shawn Horbeck speaks out about the days that he was help captive and how he’s trying to get on with his life.

“Nobody has the right to judge anybody, and people see it in their power to judge me. They don’t know what I went through,” says Hornbeck in the interview.

Hornbeck, who smiled often during the interview, is back in school. Therapy is helping him cope, but the experience “is always going to be with me,” he said.  Asked by Roberts to define his greatest fear, Hornbeck said, “Most people would say their greatest fear is dying, but that’s not mine. I would have to say my greatest fear is probably not being understood.”

Thank God Sylvia Browne was WRONG!!

According to an article on 9/24 in the Orlando Sentinel, Zenaida Gonzalez, of Kissimmee is suing Casey Anthony for defamation and has hired John Morgan, a prominent personal injury lawyer to represent her.

“Zenaida Gonzalez did not ask for her name to be put into this mess, but Casey Anthony made the mistake of her life by making her [Gonzalez] the person she decided to pull out of a hat,” Morgan said.

Since news of the missing girl broke, the Kissimmee woman has been threatened, Morgan said, and people nationwide consider her a suspect in the case. Gonzalez declined comment on why she retained the lawyers and referred all questions Morgan.

Lesson #1 if you’re going to drum up a twisted web of lies to cover up your crime:  Choose a fictional name!!!

My heart goes out to Zenaida who has been dragged into this carousel of lies and is forced to defend herself.  I am curious as to how Casey Anthony came up with the name in the first place, aren’t you?

On the Case

There aren’t many stories that have gripped our attention in the way that the Caylee Anthony Missing Person case has lately.  Its just such a twisted tale and so outright outrageous that its hard not to look!  The reason I watch it, besides my desire for justice, is because I believe that Casey Anthony is the epitome of “Generation Me” and that scares me!  It scares a lot of us and it should!!

Well, anyway…yesterday, the State Attorney’s Office released another 600 pages of very interesting information that sheds so much light on Casey that I’ve almost gotta give this girl a little bit of credit for not breaking down and telling the truth yet!  But, then again…I think she’s psychopathic!!

According to the Orlando Sentinel:

“Detectives have interviewed Anthony’s relatives, friends and collected hundreds of text messages from cell phones as part of their investigation.

The latest documents depict a 22-year-old mother more interested in socializing than in finding her daughter. Some people detailed the various stories Anthony told to explain the foul smell in her car. Anthony also blamed family members for allowing her to take advantage of them.

Jesse Grund, the ex-fiancé, offered two theories on what could have happened to Caylee. He said Anthony didn’t keep a close eye on the toddler and suggested Caylee could have choked on something and died. Or, Grund said, Caylee could have drowned in the family’s backyard pool.  He also states that Casey has lived for years with “one toe” in reality and would likely fall apart if anything happened to her young daughter.”

I have trouble believing Jesse’s last statement but you can read the documents for yourself.  I was going to bring up a few key points here but there are WAY too many of them and I’d get nothing done today.

I had trouble reading the documents from the link on OrlandoSentinel.com but I had no trouble at DocStoc.  There is also an interesting article on MyFoxOrlando this morning with some links to the transcripts of depositions from her friends.
