Steal From Me, Please!
As times get tougher, I notice a wave of future victims coming out of the woodwork in droves. Those people who are so casual with their stuff! That is until someone steals it and they they scream “WHY ME?!”.
For instance, I get up quite early and as I look out of my windows at my neighbor’s houses, what do I see? Computer monitors! People leave their computer monitors on all night, sitting in a pitch-black room playing those wonderful screen-savers that we all love so much as if it were a blue-light special at K-Mart! If I were a thief, I’d know right where to go! Turn your monitors off! It’s as easy as a push of a button!
And don’t get me started on those women who leave their purses wide-open in the front of their shopping cart! I tell some of them about it and they act as if it can’t happen to them! WHY NOT!? They’re too good? And guess what? When Visa has to pay for what is fraudulently charged on the card, that insurance we all pay for? Well, it’s you and I who have to make up for Visa’s losses!
And why on God’s green earth would anyone put $200+ worth of CD’s so visibly in their car that when the sun is on the horizon just so, it blinds oncoming traffic? I’m talking about those people with sun-visors loaded with music money! I don’t understand that! I won’t even leave a pack of cigarettes on my console for fear that some hard-up person would smash my window just for a smoke? Does that sound preposterous? Read the newspapers!!
People are doing all that they can to makes ends meet! And now, the usual criminals (sorry to lump you all up in one) are being pushed out of the biz by white-collar guys who are going out and doing the “unthinkable”! At least when they get caught…can you imagine? GASP!
So look. Unless you relish the thought of being the Debbie-Downer at this year’s Holiday festivals as you recount your life as a victim to all of your friends, who are probably thinking that a little common sense would have averted the incident in the first place and Debbie might be a more interesting party-person if she weren’t whining…protect yourself!
Don’t give an inch to the criminals! Save it for your friends!

Okay, So Obama’s Got Our Attention…NOW WHAT?
I can’t seem to get my head out of politics these days and it is really starting to get to me! I feel like I am losing my mind! <what’s left of it>
Actually, I would describe it more like I feel like there is a big ass sitting on my head! ha ha
Along comes this Obama guy! Winning over America with promises that he not only could NOT keep, but he never really meant most of them anyway! Barack Obama is a man who understands the power of words and he is a tricky man with his usage! And, he’s got more tricky people standing beside him, who made sure that he won this seat so that they could do what they wanted! I am not fooled!
We’ve seen it all before, but unfortunately, there are some lessons that are never learned by some, and we all have to pay the price! It isn’t right but history repeats until the lesson’s learned! Wouldn’t it be great if we were able to segregate those who “get it” from those who just refuse to learn? <I won’t be so bold as to put myself in either group>
We’re being bombarded by so much idiocy and blatant disregard for what is right that even entertainment news isn’t blowing up my bubble lately! And, it usually does! I love to know what the goof-balls in Hollywood are up to! I bet they’re pissed that they’re popularity has been upstaged by Obama! They actually might have to learn to entertain to get our attention back, huh?
Recently, I saw a picture of Angelina Jolie that was absolutely shocking! She was anorexic-thin! Pale and just plain yucky!! I couldn’t decide if it was drugs or disease, and we’ll probably never know, but that was quickly replaced in my head with bull-oney from Washington!
What the heck is that! My priorities are askew! That ain’t right!
There is only one other time that I can remember when I couldn’t think of anything else…that was September 11, 2001. That fact alone scares the crap out of me!
So, now that he has our attention:
He flies off to Switzerland to bid for the Olympics while there are major meetings and decisions that should be made about the troops in Afghanistan who are dying at warp speed because they don’t have the tools to do the job!
He pushes his idealism on the American people instead of taking the job of leader of a country he already believes in and loves! (That’s what the president’s job is, you know.)
He says that he won’t tax the middle class and then increases sales tax on things that the middle class buys!
He says that he’s helping big corporations to help us but unless you own stock in autos or pharmaceuticals!
He says to make the earth green we must conserve. I am beginning to think that Barack has special privacy in Air Force One because he flies that thing like crazy! Maybe a little hit of fresh air or something!
I could go on but that’s just further making my point that there is an overload of bull!
And then, when we speak about the attention that he’s warranting, we’re called names and accused of picking on the guy! Come on! If there’s a dunk tank, you throw the ball!
Even in prime time TV there are bits and pieces of the insanity embedded into our favorite shows! Seattle Grace is merging, or are they? <oooo> Little snippets are thrown in here and there even in kids shows about how they have to help out at home because Dad’s out of work!
Isn’t it enough that Obama already has regular TV appearances whenever he wants regardless of what is on! He loves to be in front of that camera!! Whooo!
Obama has literally taken over the nation!
But, we’re not all bowled-over! NOPE!
I try to pull myself away! I try to find something else to blog about, but these things that are permeating our lives are not just little gnats that are harmless if not swatted down, they are Jersey-sized mosquitoes full of West Nile virus!
The question is, why isn’t everyone else up in arms!? Why are people still following this golden calf? It boggles my mind! It literally hurts my brain!
I heard Andy Williams, an entertainer from long ago that many may not have heard of, saying that he really hates this president! I AM RIGHT THERE WITH YA, ANDY!
And, I was thinking…do you think that there is SO much coverage of Barack because all of the TV stations want to have exclusive coverage of any assassination attempt? Secret Service leaks say that there’s like 400 a day or something crazy like that! I wouldn’t put it past them…
I think it would be the stupidest thing for anyone to do because it will just place Barack Obama on a higher pedestal when he only deserves to be on a step stool! We’re funny like that…people are always cast in a beautiful glow when we’re GONE!
Our Government needs to stand up to this! We need to have our Hollywood Royalty back on the front pages and Washington DC buried where SNAFU is better than what has been proposed! And, there’s one way to make sure that happens!
VOTE SMART has everything you need to know! Who elected officials are, how they have voted and how they feel about issues…everything!! Go to the ballots arms with knowledge and get the dummies out of Washington!

Now When I Hear Sirens, I Know Why!
You know the feeling when your kid is out and about and you hear sirens? You suddenly go into panic mode and, of course, they don’t answer their phone when you call! Or, when you hear sirens and you smell smoke and you wonder if you should prepare for a large fire? That’s pretty common out here in the NJ Pine Barrens!
I had looked into scanners but they’re very expensive!
I figured that I’d resort to repeatedly calling my kid until she answered or worse…call all of her friends to see where she is! How humiliating! Plus, they are at risk of their friends saying something that they shouldn’t! <gasp!>
Well, thanks to a friend of mine, who also happens to be our Fire Chief, I was turned on to Radio Reference! It gives you online police, fire and emergency scanners feeds, providing your town or country participates! The whole U.S. is included and each week there seems to me more feeds coming through! FREE!
A few minutes ago I heard sirens. My daughter is out and about in town and accidents are common! I clicked onto their website and tuned into my zone and found out that there’s a small brush fire a few blocks over! Unless she caused it or has found a way to get entangled in it, she should be fine! As for the fire? Probably out by the time I hit “publish”!

I May Never Go Out To Eat Again!!
After reading “10 Dirty Little Restaurant Secrets“, I am reconsidering where we go for our next meal if we go at all!
I mean, seriously! I am not naive, but what some people will do to make a buck on the unsuspecting is absolutely deplorable! Serving beef that’s turned bad to the people who order their meat well done! Substituting high priced alcohol and food ingredients with cheap rip-offs! And the re-use of chips! OH!!
It really angers me because we, the consumer, put our trust in the people who are serving food that we buy! And, it seems that we pay more and more for it every time we go for smaller portions! WTH!
We are ingesting what we are buying from these people! It’s not like we’re buying a blanket or a plant or something! We’re buying prepared food! We could die from what we’re buying if someone is irresponsible, greedy and down-right scummy!
The government pays so much attention to how much sugar is in a product that you’re buying off of the shelf in a sealed container, but seems completely ignorant to the fact that we are being poisoned by one of the largest markets out there…the food-serving industry!
That makes me wonder who’s zooming who!
Why aren’t restaurants held to the same standards that mass-produced food is? At least at the grocery store, you know what you’re buying! But, if you’re out eating with your family, you could order something and get something completely different or something that could put you over the toilet for 3 days!
That is insane!!

Why Do They Hate Fox News?
There is one cable news channel that you either love or you hate…vehemently! Fox News! You either have it on all day or you despise it more than rotted cabbage laying under your bed!
No other news channel gets the attention that Fox News gets!
Even the President talks about how awful they are! Although, my opinion is that Barack Obama watches Fox News all day, which is how he knows which way to run and hide…dodge and dart…bob and weave! But, that’s just me and mine <opinion>!
Lately, people have come out and accused Fox News of outright lies! Seriously? If that is true, then why aren’t they taken off the air or at least fined and reprimanded!? Why haven’t they? Because instead of being proven to have lied, their facts are proven to be the truth!
Nobody wants to admit that…especially supporters of Obama and the Communist/Liberal media.
Yes, all news stations have been caught in a blunder now and then, but the way people speak about Fox News, you would think that they’re less factual than SNL’s news! And, that’s just not true, and everyone knows it!
The truth is that the research team at Fox is fantastic!
I’d hate you too if I were flying under the radar and I knew that it was just a matter of time before Fox mentions MY name! Sheesh!
It’s amazing that they don’t get death threats, although I’m sure they do because the world is full of nut-jobs!
The “rabid” research team at Fox is able to repeatedly uncover some of the most scandalous news! Scandals that have facts, figures and documents to back up them up! That has to be infuriating!! Especially when they are called on their stories and are able to give information to prove it! They’re like the TMZ of serious news! <I want to know who would cover a scandal at TMZ…>
And if they’re “lies” aren’t enough to explain your hatred for them, there’s always other things that Fox News can be picked on for!
Let’s see. First, attack their gall to please you visually!<the nerve!!> The news team is gorgeous and personable! The wardrobe department gets a gold star, as do the set designers who make sure that those legs are showing and the suit fits perfect! But, that’s no reason for hating them…unless you don’t like girls and guys! Some may call that sexist…I call that a great production team!
Next, attack the light-hearted way that they present some of the stories.<go ahead…make my day> Yes, they joke around! Some people think that news should not be fun…everything’s gotta be all serious, as if the news isn’t bad enough! I feel badly for them.
When I watch the other cable news channels, I find myself drifting off to sleep with their monotone-style conversations and backdrops!
Fox knows what we want! We want to be entertained while we learn! We learn that when we’re little kids!!
<I will not learn my A, B, C’s unless they’re on brightly colored blocks of wood, for instance> I welcome their levity with open arms because the last 7 months has pushed me to the edge!
And then you have the third reason people hate Fox News!
Yes, they may hang a little to the right! They’ve been accused of being one-sided and biased, but if you really watched the show, you’d know that if there’s a story, Fox is going to get it out there, regardless of which side of the political party it affects!
It’s understandable if you’re totally to the left and don’t want to hear anything bad about your own party! I understand! But, regardless of what people think, they are equal opportunity newscasters and you deserve to know the truth! If the shoe fits on a Republican, they make just as sure that they wear it on their foot publicly!
And, not only do they report the news, but they sometimes repeat the stories over and over! Doesn’t that just drive you nuts? They’re not trying to drive you further over the edge. They do it just in case you thought you were dreaming when you heard the story the first time! A really bad dream…! And, they know that you’re busy and may have missed it the first time!
They’re doing you a favor!
It’s reminds me of the scenario of when your best friend was getting ready to marry a total jerk! You told her but she didn’t listen and she turned on you because she doesn’t like what she’s hearing! <bummer…no invitation> Bitterness ensues. Two years later (+/-) the bride is a miserable excuse for a woman with a kid hanging on her ankle and her husband in a bar or in another woman’s bed!
The best friend feels awful but it’s not like she didn’t tell her so!!
The sad truth is, that bride will leave that horrible excuse for a man and most likely fall into the arms of another man who is just like him! It’s just the way it is…people make bad decisions every day that affect more than just themselves!
I just wish that THIS poor decision that people were WARNED ABOUT BY FOX NEWS DIDN’T AFFECT US ALL!! DAMN IT!!
I expect to pay for my own bad choices, but not half of the star-struck nation’s choice that they cannot divorce, abandon or otherwise! We have to live with this!
It’s a story repeated over and over all over the world!

Sugar-Free Treats Can Be Deadly to Your Dogs!
You can now add xylitol to the list of dangers for your dogs!
I just read an article that states that xylitol, the sweetener found in many sugar free treats such as chewing gum, can be deadly to your dog if they get into it!
As a matter of fact, two sticks of sugarless gum can kill a 20-pound dog! That’s horrible!
A sugar-free pudding cup can spell disaster for a 90-pound dog!
Isn’t that crazy? With all of the things our friends get into, sugarless stuff can be deadly? It’s perfectly healthy for humans, yeah right, but not for the dogs.
The article states that the xylitol makes it so that the dog’s blood pressure drops too low very quickly. They start vomiting and if they’ve ingested enough, they can start going into seizures! And you only have about 30 minutes to an hour to get them to the vet so that they can get the blood pressure levels back up to healthy levels! That’s so scary!!
I wonder, having to battle fluctuating blood pressure issues myself, if it can be fixed by eating a small bit of a salty food, but when it comes to my dogs there is no limit that I would go to for them. Maybe is not enough!!
And, what’s worse is that there are more and more products using xylitol! I personally don’t buy sugarless products, but you never know when someone will lay their purse on the couch and your dog ventures in and finds their gum! That’s why I have a place for people to hang their purses when they come over. Our dog Brandy was a bandit for anything edible! Even if it wasn’t edible, she’d give it a shot!!
So, arm yourself with knowledge, please!

Little has been mentioned about it, but Republican John Shimkus from Illinois walked out!!!
Good for you, man! That’s how to get re-elected!
If Obama refuses to listen to us, then we should do the same!
Respect has to be earned and Obama ain’t doing it!
Not in any way, shape or form!

While some seek justice for the Gitmo detainees, please remember Daniel Pearl and the other Americans who were tortured, dismembered and strung on the bridge in Baghdad!
While there are people spreading pictures of CIA agents to Al Qaeda members to see who tortured their people, remember that there are people who are fighting for their lives to keep you safe!
